Cookie Policy
Last updated: March 2026
1. What Are Cookies?
Cookies are small text files placed on your device when you visit a website. They help the website remember information about your visit, such as your login session, to make your experience smoother and more secure.
2. Cookies We Use
Finly uses only strictly necessary cookies. We do not use advertising cookies, tracking pixels, or third-party analytics cookies of any kind.
| Cookie Name | Purpose | Duration | Type |
|---|---|---|---|
| token | Your signed-in session. httpOnly, so scripts on the page cannot read it. | 7 days | Essential |
| finly_scope | Remembers which family profiles you were viewing. Stored in your browser only — never sent to us. | Until cleared | Preference |
| finly_discreet | Remembers whether you chose to blur amounts on screen. Stored in your browser only. | Until cleared | Preference |
| finly_sidebar_collapsed | Remembers whether you collapsed the sidebar. Stored in your browser only. | Until cleared | Preference |
3. Browser Storage, Not Cookies
The three preference entries above are stored in your browser's local storage rather than as cookies. They never leave your device and are never sent to our servers — clearing your browser data removes them.
4. Cookies We Do NOT Use
We explicitly do not use:
- Google Analytics, Mixpanel, Amplitude, or any behavioural analytics cookies.
- Facebook Pixel, Google Ads, or any advertising or retargeting cookies.
- Third-party chat widgets or customer support tracking cookies.
- A/B testing or personalisation cookies from third-party providers.
- Social media tracking pixels or share buttons that set cookies.
4. Local Storage
In addition to cookies, Finly may use browser localStorage to store your UI preferences (e.g., collapsed sidebar state, selected currency). This data is stored entirely on your device and is never sent to our servers.
5. Managing Cookies
Because we use only essential cookies, disabling them will prevent you from staying signed in and using the platform. You can manage or delete cookies through your browser settings:
- Chrome: Settings → Privacy and security → Cookies and other site data
- Firefox: Settings → Privacy & Security → Cookies and Site Data
- Safari: Preferences → Privacy → Manage Website Data
- Edge: Settings → Cookies and site permissions
6. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Cookie Policy if we change the cookies we use. Any changes will be reflected on this page with an updated revision date.
